Dr. Nick Refahi

A member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Nick Refahi graduated at the top of his class in both undergraduate and dental school. He completed his studies in Biological Sciences and Biomedical Engineering before attending the academically acclaimed University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. UMB is considered to be one of the best dental schools in the United States and is the first of its kind to lead the field in dental research as well as advanced technological procedures in dentistry.

After graduating from dental school in 2006 with honors, Dr. Refahi studied in the Advanced General Dentistry post-graduate residency program in order to study advanced and complex patient care situations. It was during his time in residency that Dr. Refahi was able to advance his personal skills on the precise work of dental aesthetics (cosmetics) as well as reconstructive abilities in dental implantology, cosmetic surgery procedures, tissue grafting and full mouth reconstruction therapy. He is also a member of the Dawson Academy, which is a postgraduate program that provides advanced training in complete dental therapy through extremely comprehensive, individualized treatment approaches about how your teeth function in conjunction with the rest of a patient’s health. In addition to this training, Dr. Refahi studies under The California Institute, which is a fellowship program that enables dentists to achieve a better understanding and knowledge of advanced bone grafting, osseointegration and implant technique therapies. In all, he has received over 200 hours of continuing education in cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Refahi continues to receive extensive training each year in addition to the minimal continuing education credits required by general dentists. His skills in advanced general dentistry have led his office to be a top San Diego dental implant provider. Before coming to California in 2009, Dr. Refahi also worked alongside an exceptional team of dentists in the state of Virginia. His extensive training has allowed him to provide exceptional care that offers the best results possible to his patients.

It is Dr. Refahi’s goal to provide affordable and quality dental care to every patient that comes into his office. The commitment that he makes to his patients is to work alongside them and help them better understand any therapy that they may need, explaining each step in the procedure along the way, and why it is necessary. Dr. Refahi doesn’t tell his patients what they need, but gives them treatment options to choose from. Alternative treatments are presented to every patient so they can co-plan their treatment alongside the doctor. Dr. Nick stands behind every procedure that he performs. All dental treatment is guaranteed for patients that visit him for their routine preventive care appointments.

Outside of the office, Dr. Refahi spends more professional time volunteering through organizations that benefit the greater San Diego community. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their nieces and nephews as well as hiking, skiing, water sports and playing soccer. When down time allows, he also enjoys reading and traveling with his wife.
